Top 3 Tips on How to Get Your First 1000 Subscribers on Youtube 2019 (How I did it in 2 Months)

By | August 23, 2019

Hey guys I’m here with the three most important things on how I got my channel from about 20 subscribers at the end of June To where I am today, which is just hitting that thousand subscriber mark I’m doing this video because a lot of people were asking me for tips and advice on how to grow their channels faster So I figured if I make a video on it I can provide a lot more information than just writing a reply in the comment. The good news is It can definitely be done and I really think pretty much anyone can do it But the bad news is it takes a lot of hard work at least on my part. I didn’t have any viral videos or 30,000 view videos or anything like that my best video as far as I know was about 5000 views This isn’t really scripted. So I’m just gonna be kind of riffing off my experience so far and Going off a loose outline. The three topics I’ll be covering in this video is first the importance of having a regular upload schedule One that’s not too harsh. But one that makes you work hard second is learning YouTube SEO and utilizing current events in your field of video Third is how to build relationships with your subscribers and be proactive with getting views not just sitting back and Putting out videos and hoping that your video blows up So the first tip is to have a regular upload schedule one That’s not too demanding, but also one that puts pressure on you to work pretty hard It’s up to you to decide what works best for you Personally, I do once a week, but you could be doing twice a week once a day really? It’s up to you why this works? Well for me is for one It helps my subscribers know when the videos are coming out, hopefully but in terms of productivity I think being consistent really helps you stay on that track of Keeping up with the videos Like if I finish a video early, even if I’m super excited about it and ready to get out there I’m gonna wait until my release date because You know something might come up in the future Where I get busy or I get sick or I just need a break and it’s good to have your videos a little bit of ahead of schedule or even to have one or two like in cold storage so that way even if you have to take some time off your schedule is gonna keep consistent and that really just helps establish a routine of getting Things done and out on time So my second tip is definitely learn some SEO specifically regarding YouTube and I always recommend anything by Brian Dean who created the site backlinko He has really good YouTube SEO videos out there, but as a general overview SEO is search engine optimization it’s learning to rank for keywords and How you can do this because if you think about it, you’re a new channel You’re not going to be ranking for the super popular keywords that have millions of search results So what you need to do is go for more specific more accurate keywords to what you’re doing so as an example my Best performing video was of the World Cup when Bugga won it I thought this is a great opportunity He’s relatively unknown. So there’s not that much search traffic for it. So I did a bunch of keywords centering around like SEN Bugha, Bugha World Cup, Booga replays. I know for some of those keywords I was definitely in like the top three of search results in that video Ended up doing about five times better than any of my other videos it got about 5,000 views when my next best performing video is only at about a thousand I Also did the same thing for the monster vs Robot event, and that one at the time performed a lot better than any my the videos So what I found is doing proper SEO for current events in your field has the best Reward the best potential reward for the least amount of effort the before-mentioned Bugha world cup video and monster vs robot video those both took me like an hour and a half to make whereas my montages take me more like I Don’t even want to talk about how long way too long to make. Those are my best performing videos So it’s kind of difficult, but you know You gotta learn this stuff and it’s actually really powerful and can save you a lot of time in growing your channel and then the third tip which is Definitely what’s gotten me the most subscribers But it’s also the most time consuming is you need to be active and out there promoting your videos you can’t just put out a video and hope thousands of people just stumble across it like That’s not gonna happen in 99% of cases For the first couple months that’s what I actually did I put out videos. I did nothing about it I got Two or three views whatever it was pretty discouraging. But what I started doing is I got on discord I got on reddit I started getting active in communities. I Reach out to people all the time on their YouTube channels. I watched their videos I give them encouragement If they don’t respond to my comments, then I just leave it at that. I don’t just comment sub 4 sub Let’s do it right now Come on Because I mean what kind of subscribers are you even gonna get you if they don’t respond on the comment if they don’t care enough to Respond to my comment on their own video what makes me think that they’re gonna take the effort to even check out my channel ever Or even give my video of you or a comment because more often times than not they’re not even gonna care but if they do care enough to actually Respond to my comment on their video and they say something along the lines of hey, thanks for commenting on my video I’m working really hard. I appreciate it then I’m gonna follow up more often than not we’re gonna have a conversation because as a small youtube channel Your advantage is that you can build relationships one at a time and you can spend the time on that the prerequisite for this to actually be efficient in my mind is to have at least semi-decent content and To be reaching out to people that are in your same niche that might be interested in your videos I’ll look at their video count video view count. I’ll look at their subs I’ll look at the description if they’re having trouble with anything and offer to help out offer advice If their video is really solid, maybe I’ll ask them for advice on my videos. I don’t know whatever but If you take the time and effort to build these relationships Your guests your sub count slowly but steadily Rises. I really think that this is super important to getting that first foothold in your sub count, so it takes the most time and effort, but also I think It provides you with steady results that you’re in control of So as a quick recap the first thing I advised was to have a regular upload schedule and I only break that when there’s something like current event like the world cup event or the monstrous robot event in fortnight and I put those videos out as soon as possible to get a head start on those new keywords And then second was learning YouTube SEO and utilizing those current events lastly it was connecting with people on YouTube on reddit on whatever social media platform of your choice Getting out there and being proactive with reaching out to people and hey, that’s about it So I had a lot of fun actually recording this I’ve never really done a video like this before, but I want to keep trying new things Let me know if you guys liked it. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them in the comments I’ll answer them there and maybe I’ll even make more videos and answer your questions on the videos. I don’t know I did reach the Like goal in subscriber goal, which was to have a thousand subs and a hundred likes by this Friday August 20 was that third so I’m gonna buy $50 worth of v-bucks and I’ll be giving those out in the upcoming months and my next video will have all The details on what you need to do to be entered into that. So stay tuned and have a great day
