Title Tag vs. Description Tag | What is the difference?

By | August 15, 2019

What is the difference between Title Tags
and Description Tags? They are both used within onsite optimization
but they are two separate areas within your content management system that you need to
edit. Your title tag is what shows up in big, blue
text when you search on Google. It is the most important ranking factor for
onsite SEO. The Description Tag, on the other hand, is
the smaller grey text that shows up on Google. Both need to include your keywords. However, the Title Tag is much shorter. It should generally be less than 65 characters
in length. The description tag, should generally be less
than 160 characters in length. The description tag is a great place to include
your unique value proposition. So if there is something that really makes
your business stand out against your competition, that is the place to include it; in the Description
Tag. That is going to allow people and encourage
them to click through to your website.
