By | August 14, 2019

Hi guys and welcome to SEO PowerSuite
help videos! This video is dedicated to one of the SEO PowerSuite tools which is
called SEO SpyGlass. This application aims to help you with backlink audit if
you need to analyze your own backlink profile or reveal your competitors’
secrets and find out where your competitors get their backlinks from, SEO
spyglass is here to help you. Also you’ll be able to detect potentially harmful
backlinks and disavow them with a help of our tool. So let’s start! First of all
when you launch the tool you’ll be offered to create a new project so click
new and enter your domain. Actually you may create a project not just for the
root domain but for any specific URL then you’ll get backlinks to that
specific page only. Enable expert options and click Next
At step two you need to select the preferred backlink source we’ll have
three options: SEO PowerSuite link Explorer is our own database so if you
select this one you’ll get backlinks found by our robots and stored in our
database. Also you may connect your Google Analytics and Google search
console accounts and collect backlinks from there. But if this is a project for
your competitor’s website then these two options will not work since you have now
access to their Google accounts. At step 3 you can limit the overall number of
backlinks to be collected to your project or limit the number of backlinks
per domain and disable this option by default the software limits backlinks from
one domain to 10 or you can easily change it. Once you click finish
the software will start collecting backlinks to the indicated domain or URL.
When it’s done, all the data will be in your project you can actually add backlinks to a
project manually if some known backlinks haven’t been found in chosen sources or
you have just built some fresh links you can add any urls to your projects
manually to do that you need to click the Add button and enter your backlinks
and the software will start analyzing them right away also you can remove any
backlink from the project anytime you need to select the backlinks, right-click remove backlinks from project. The newly
found backlinks can be detected where the most recent date in the first found
date column, so you can easily check which of the backlinks have been
recently found. The workspace is customizable you can move any column add
or remove any column to your workspace click this menu and check any columns to
be added or remove them from the workspace. Also we have predefined
filters here and you can use the filtering option to sort out your
backlinks here I’d like to mention several
important metrics for analyzing backlink quality. One of them is InLink Rank, this
is our own metric which is a score that estimates the importance of web pages
it’s determined by the number and quality of incoming links to the page
both external and internal the higher is the InLink Rank, the more
important this domain or this page is for google. These are the columns with the
domain InLink Rank and page InLink Rank another one is link value it’s an estimation of the SEO value of
the selected backlink the formula is based on the number of external links on
the backlink page and pages InLink rank and it estimates how much link
juice is likely to be transmitted through this backlink. The higher is the
value the more link juice it’s able to transmit to your site. To check which
source each backlink has been collected from you should look at the
Tags column. So all my backlinks have been collected from our database so I
see SEO PowerSuite link Explorer in the Tags column. You can also export the
backlinks either by using the quick export button or using the copy to clipboard
option select the backlinks right-click and select copy data to clipboard
since some of the backlinks collected from any source may be outdated you are
recommended to verify the backlinks after creating the project you
need to select backlinks, click update backlinks and choose backlink page info
and the software will show you which backlinks have been switched to nofollow
which of them have already been removed if the link is missing so you’ll get the
freshest data now I’d like to talk a bit more on each of the modules you have in
your project the summary module gives you the
information on the overall stats on the backlinks a very important thing you
need to pay attention to the statistical source selected here. There are two
options: if you choose SEO PowerSuite link index then all this data will
relate to the backlinks stored in our database no matter if you have made any changes if you have added any backlinks manually or if you removed any
backlinks from your project if you switch to Project, then the data will be
showing the information on the backlinks stored in your project file. You can
track the number of backlinks domains IPs, also the backlink progress graphs
the linking domains the information on the anchor texts etc also you can save
this information as a PDF file if you click on this button. In the Linking
domains module you can see the list of those domains that link to you and check
how many backlinks to your site each of them has. Click on this button and you’ll
get the list of backlinks you can use the anchor text module when
you analyze your competitors backlink profile, since you can monitor which
keywords they use in the anchors and get some keyword ideas for your anchor text to analyze the the traffic your website
is getting through backlinks turn to referral traffic module connect to
Google Analytics account if you haven’t done this before and fetch all this
data for each of the backlinks the linked pages module provides the data on the
linked pages of your site. You can sort the pages by the number of backlinks
they have and check which pages of your site have most backlinks from other
sites so in my case is the home page as The penalty risk shows
how risky this backlink is for your website so if you switch to a penalty
risk module you can check the penalty risk
for each of the backlinks what is risky and which backlinks are dangerous
for your website actually the links with the penalty risk value of 70 to 100
percent should be checked immediately since these are most likely to get
website penalized by Google. 30 to 70% risk would mean the link is potentially
helpful and we recommend you to take a closer look at it you can also click on
this info button and check more details on each panel to
risk so if possible you can take any measures and to to do something just to
decrease this panel to risk for any backlink in case some of the backlinks
in your profile turn out to be harmful or toxic and you cannot take them down
on your own by contacting the website owners you may decide to disavow those
with the help of Google disavow tool and with SEO spyglass you can generate a
disavow file right in the application how can you do that you need to switch
the backlinks select select the backlinks you need to disavow right
click and select s about backlinks you can select whether you can whether you
need to simply disavow this particular backlink or the entire domain click OK
and to manage your disavowed backlinks, go to Preferences>Disavow/blacklist
backlinks. Here you get the list of all the disavowed backlinks in the project.
You can undo disavow at anytime. It will be added back to your project then. Also
you can choose the action in this drop down menu whether you want to disavow
backlink, in this case it will be kept the project and updated when you update
all your backlinks or disavow exclude from updating
which means that all these backlinks will be kept in the project but when you
update backlinks the data will not be updated on these backlinks or you can
blacklist them these backlinks will be removed from the project and will not be
added to it again. the Domain comparison section helps you to compare your
backlink profile to those of your competitors. The summary module displays
the overall comparison of the involved domains. So when you click Add domains,
add your domain, I’m going to add another one you’ll see the list of factors
listed on the left and each of the main steps for each factor. Well the best
results are highlighted in green so you can could you can easily spot the domain
that has the most winning characteristics for each of these
factors. At the bottom you will also see the overall rating calculated for each
of the displayed domains can be one to five stars in the Link Intersection module, you’re
able to see backlinks that all specified domains have in common, so you can see
which sites link to all the compared domains and which of them link to your
competitors but not to your site. so we see here that these domains link
to all the three domains added to domain comparison. And these domains link to only, so you can revise the check the list of linking domains and
probably get some ideas and find some backlink partners you would like to
contact to regarding placing a backlink The Bulk Analysis tool lets you analyze
important backlink metrics for up to two hundred domains at once. So you need to
paste the list of your domains one per line here and click analyze and you get
the comparison for the number of factors so you can quickly analyze your domains
and check each of these factors if you need a quick comparison of up to two
hundred domains this is a nice opportunity just to get all the
information in a couple of moments. Under Domain strength, you can analyze some
domain strengths metrics for your domain and the Reports section where you can
generate and customize backlink reports to customize a report you need to go to
the edit module click the edit button here
you see the list of widgets you can add add any widget you need. Also you can
remove them or edit any widget Another thing is that you can also change the
color and the font, for example I want to change the theme, choose this one, click
OK, save the changes, and the report will be changed to black. Please note that if
you have an enterprise license you can save your reports to PDF, share and
publish them but if you have a professional one you’ll be able to print
them on paper with watermarks only another important feature I’d like to
talk about is creating scheduled tasks go to Preferences>Scheduler, click Add.
Here you need to choose which task you want SEO SpyGlass to perform for you
automatically for example I want to rebuild project. Click Next, select the
project, specify timing and recurrence rules and click Next I’ve created a scheduled task and SEO
SpyGlass will rebuild my project according to the timing and recurrence
rules I’ve just set up so I don’t need to rebuild it manually each time it will
be doing this automatically every week and the last thing I’m going to talk
about is how I can use tags when working with scheduled tasks and reports. When
you manage your backlinks and if you need to group them somehow you can add
tags. Select the backlinks, right click and select Add tags. This tag will be
added to the Tags column. If I need to create a report which will have the
records with these specific tags only I need to go to Reports, click to edit this
report, go to preferences and choose the tag. In this case the report will have
the data on the backlinks with the specify tags only. The same with
Scheduler – if I want to create a scheduled task which will include only the records
with this specific tag for example Update backlink data but only those
backlinks which have this tag click Next and here I need to specify
the tag. That’s it! That’s basically all about SpyGlass. Thank you for watching this video! if you have any questions, about the tool feel free to contact us. Have a nice day!
