Module 1 Lesson 6 Sensor

By | August 12, 2019

Hello! In this lesson, we’ll discuss the SEMrush
Sensor. It allows you to optimize your SEO strategy
and stay informed of the latest Google updates. Sensor tracks the volatility of Google search
results on a daily basis, showing you how many changes there were in the rankings. You will be able to react quickly and adjust
your optimization plan. Let’s learn more about the Sensor. It is situated at the bottom of the SEMrush
main menu and on the page footer. Here is the current Sensor score. It shows the actual SERP volatility level
which reflects changes in Google search results. Below, you can see the SERP volatility trend
for the last thirty days with notes that inform you about the most important changes in the
algorithm. You can monitor changes in Google’s rankings
for particular industries to see which categories were affected most by recent changes. To see which SERP features are present on
SERPs for different categories, look at the SERP features occurrence list. With it, you can watch out for Google’s
algorithm updates that affected the popularity of SERP features. Under the ‘Deviations’ tab you can see
the difference in volatility on a particular day compared to monthly average for different
categories. Each category has its own baseline volatility,
and any deviation from it will indicate how unstable it was on a given day. That way, you will be able to check if there’s
been anything unusual in Google that might have affected rankings in areas most important
to you. In the ‘Personal Score’ tab, you can track
the dynamics of your keyword positions for the devices and locations you’ve set earlier
in the Position Tracking tool. This will help you figure out whether any
significant changes have occurred in your niche or whether it is only your rankings
that have suffered. This might mean that your website was experiencing
some technical issues on that day. We also recommend that you subscribe to email
and push notifications – you will be warned whenever Sensor spots notable fluctuations
in rankings. You also can embed the Sensor widget into
your website. It is as simple as that: choose the size of
the widget, select the database, then copy the code to paste it on your site. So, in this lesson we’ve reviewed the SEMrush
Sensor which is extremely helpful for tracking the volatility of Google search results. Run through the Sensor to get ideas of how
to optimize your SEO strategy. Sensor is updated regularly, so drop by often. Also, go to the ‘Read Further” section,
look at related posts on the SEMrush blog and visit our Knowledge Base.
