Many thanks for sharing this tutorial, it is really helpfull and easy to understand!
A question: Using " " (like in "keyword") in keyword search for seo on the Google Search Bar is usefull? How can we use this for our advantage? How can we interpret the information that Google will give us?

Again, many thanks for sharing your knowledge in yt! 🙂

You don't have to use the double quotes when you attend to keyword research, but I will tell you that using it while attending to your keyword selection will save time for you. You can kind of tell Google to include that term when it brings results like this = keywordOne "IncludeThisKeywordWithinTheQuotes" keywordThree I hope that makes sense

I have not clue why you would want to see all the results in one place, broad, exact, phrase
its just confusing the situation, I always choose exact as it shows me the exact traffic only as that is what I want to know, the competition is only to do with adwords as in how many people targeting ads on the keyword.

Thank you for you comment Albert, and yes I agree with you "Match types can get tricky for most people", that's why I didn't go in depth, nor separate them nor confuse the viewer exploring, and the video session is for gathering overview idea about which keywords to select. Video suggests to explore the match types for those who aren't familiar with it. In fact, I would suggest to explore every single option. Competition option is to do with Adwords, that's why I stated not to worry about it.

Thanks a lot! Great video. If i have a keyword list, do i have to optimize one page per keyword?

    Reply
  9. RankYa Post author

No I would encourage you to choose more than 1 keyword per page, depending on your online industry, you can choose up to 10. But having said that, you choose 1 root keyword per page and then stem the rest out of that one you chose.

Hi, Thank you for a very informational video! I actually did get quite excited to try it out! But… As another in the comments, im not able to get the ~keyword -keyword to return any result. Do you have any advice?

Again thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Hi Rasmus, the tilde ~operator has been discontinued it seems I have been trying to work around it, no luck yet, although, taking a look at related searches to figure out the synonyms is showing insights about closely related terms, furthermore, looking at Adword results when conducting searches in Google also shows related terms (just have to play around a little) you can also check out URL synonym . com/synonyms/ to see some related terms. – minus operator is good to go. I hope this helps

I very much agree that you should consider all options as it is different for everyone. It is also right that you should have different keyword phrases per page but make sure to have a common root. An excellent video that is educational and easy to understand. Those who are just starting will surely benefit from you. Keep the videos coming!

Did you try to "Save File" as CSV? Or perhaps refreshing the browser may fix the downloading issue.

here's a work around for the tilde operator. Google Sets, using car brands as an example: Create a new spreadsheet in Google Drive, type mazda in A1 and honda in A2 (the first column), highlight the two cells and then press Ctrl (or Option for Mac) while clicking and dragging the small blue box from the lower-right corner to select additional cells where to place the Google Sets results.

Thanks very much Todd, I have tried your solution and in fact it does not bad of a job, thank you much appreciated, because what comes from Google results sets (regardless of search, or spreadsheet on Drive) is always smart to analyze. Cheers mate 😉

Yes Jason, RIP ~tilde operator, one of the most useful search operator in Google for SEO. And as Todd said Google drive feature does a similar job as ~tilde but I feel it is not as efficient. Due to the importance of this for SEO, I would advise Googling your keywords (using related search results) with words which you know to be close as to your keywords. It seems that after short while, you do see good insights. Or one can use synonyms and search Google with them. Thanks for your comment

Thank you so much for this insightful video!! I have one question regarding modifiers and Root Keywords.

As your example shows "seo services" and the modifier is "professional" should I create a page/post and the name of it should be "seo services"? In terms of the content, I should be writing about answering any queries about "professional seo services" and have those keywords in the content?

    Reply
  22. RankYa Post author

Part 1 of answering this question I will say it will depend on your online field and all of the keywords u r targeting. But I'll give you suggestion as: you can create a page with 2 root words, and then write content with the modifier being in usual on page elements like: title, meta description, h1 and h2 and through out content on your page directing your message towards the modifier word being answered. This will set you up for ranking both the modifier & also the 2 root keywords.

  23. RankYa Post author

Part 2 of the last comment would be: you can create a page with all of ur keywords processional_seo_services.html now if you choose this option, then be aware that it will be easier & quicker to rank (because longer is the keyword) so it is up to you to target how many root keywords and modifiers, keeping in mind the longer the keywords easier to rank. I'll even give you another idea which may also work depending on your online field.

  24. RankYa Post author

Another suggestion which may interest you is you can: create a folder with root words, example: yourdomain(dot)com/seo-service/ &then simply extend the folder including different modifiers
    yourdomain(dot)com/seo-service/professional.html
    yourdomain(dot)com/seo-service/for-small-business.html
    yourdomain(dot)com/seo-service/australia.html
because at times this option may be more suitable. So at the end of the day, the balance is to have both keywords in URL and also your message being effective

Hey, thanks a lot for the great tutorial for the external keyword tool. Is there another planned for the Keyword Planner? Do you think it is an improvement? What does it lack as far as a keyword search engine tool?

    Reply
  30. RankYa Post author

Hi Alec, thanks for stopping by & your comment. As per your question, Google keyword tool is simply the only tool you will ever need for keyword research (combined with Google search box) because the rest simply don't have the power of Google's data. I believe it is an improvement to the earlier one, but seems like Google is pushing hard to win over small business dollars. But it lacks 1 critical aspect: Google simply won't show longer tailed search data, never have and perhaps they never will

    Reply
  31. RankYa Post author

Because for many years now, they have been making sure that Google searchers do not get used to searching for long tailed search queries, thus suggestions as you type. Also the mobile search market is huge (for the future) thus, they will always aim to teach people to search (3, 4 words long) or else Adword customers won't be happy. That is where your understanding of Google advanced search must come in

    Conducting thorough research through Google search box, competitor website analysis, online digging for data out there on internet ether, by using inurl:domainOfInterest intitle:keywordOfInterest and also backlink analysis of competitors, running directory browsing type of keyword research, even running some Google Adword campaigns to see keyword data (especially the impressions) and then combining all these in such way will give you powerful keywords for your organic rankings for the long term;

i just want to ask you that if i use synonyms and make a decent link like for example: you used "affordable seo service" then do i need to maintain its density in that article too?
like 1stkeyword will be "seo service" 2ndkeyword will be "affordable seo service" and so on…
so i am little bit confused with this??
